Post-Op Update

Well, I am home and settled after surgery. I apologize for not posting before surgery but I was in a dark place. I was very nervous and very emotional. I was having anxiety attacks and just could not focus on the end goal. Since then, I have turned the corner. I went into surgery with a positive attitude and lots of prayer on my side.

Since then, lots of poking, prodding, listening, pain, and chicken broth. Lots and lots of chicken broth. Insane amounts of chicken broth. Ok, well, only 2 oz at a time. But still... It gets old realllllly fast.

I came home yesterday (Friday, I think?) and have been doing well. Very sore, like I have worked out a LOT over the past week. I have been drinking fluids constantly and have been drinking my dinners, whic consist of... You guessed it... Chicken broth. I have beef broth but haven't been able to stomach that yet. Had a bad experience with that a few weeks ago.

So I know everyone is wondering how much weight I've lost... Well, the day of surgery I had lost 14 lbs in just over a week due to my pre-op diet. Since the day of surgery I haven't weighed at the hospital but I weighed tonight. I haven't used my scales at all during this process, so I'm not sure what the over/under may be. Anyway, since I have peaked your curiosity, I am 19 lbs down since the day of surgery...which was like 4 days ago... Yikes!!

I've had several visitors and the common question is whether I am hungry. I'm not hungry. The pain is minimal, more soreness like I've done 100,000 sit-ups in the past day. I am drinking lots of fluid and getting up often to walk. I walked to the pool and back today. I got a little excited thinking about the pool opening. First time I have ever been excited about the thought of wearing a bathing suit!!

So long for now. Will update later!
